Jul 18 - Fantastic meal and service last night in bistro , food was excellent lobster thermidor was one of the best I have ever had , great to see such a full restaurant and great credit to all staff who managed it so impeccably well .

Jun 18 - Just had the most amazing meal here tonight. Friends & I have been coming to the Uists for over a decade. This is one of the best meals we’ve had. Nice ambiance. Relaxed restaurant. Excellent service & local food to die for.
The langoustines are possibly the best I’ve had. Succulent, fresh & sweet.

Jun 18 - Just had a fantastic night at the Bistro. Octopus salad and surf and turf lobster and steak. Wonderful meal in a great environment. Highly recommend seeking it out, you will not be disappointed. Make sure you leave space for the pudding. Just saying! PC
Jun 18 - I was in a party of 20 for a meal at the Bistro on the 9th, It was superb from start to finish. venue, service, food, hospitality, beautiful surroundings, very efficient friendly staff. could not fault a thing. I even tasted octapus!! MA
Jun 18 - Just back from the Bistro. We had an absolutely wonderful meal as could be demonstrated by the empty plates we returned to the kitchen. I have fussy children and their peculiarities were catered for willingly and in an extremely helpful manner, without as much as a bat of the eyelids. I can highly recommend the Bistro as a fantastic place to eat whether with or without fussy children! We will definitely be back again. RC

May 18 - Well, with the new decor both outside and in we were expecting things to be good. However once inside we realised just how good. The bistro's decoration is cheerful, bright and tasteful. The food (two evening meals in four days) was excellent, well presented, attractive and full of flavour. The fish and seafood was about as fresh as you can get and each course was extremely well cooked. There was a very friendly 'buzz' about the place, which was promoted in no small part by the attentive staff. We will certainly be regular visitors to this new gem but I think we will need to book well ahead – and so will you! ME
May 18 - While waiting for our ferry journey home from Lochmaddy my husband and I decided to explore the little isle of Berneray. We stopped at “the Berneray shop and Bistro “ and what a find. Lovely bright clean restaurant with friendly attentive staff. We both had the soup of the day with bread roll, and coffee and cake,all excellent. As frequent visitors to South Uist we often neglect North Uist and had only once been to Berneray before, now that we have found this gem of a bistro we will be back. MW

Good menu and excellent selection of local fillings for sandwiches. The salmon was delicious! Left room for coffee and a slice of cake and very glad I did, the lemon sponge was delicious!

Apr 18 - "We stopped off here on Wednesday after coming off the ferry. Great to see fresh, local shellfish featuring on the menu, in various forms. Very prompt and polite service and the kids menu had all the kinds of things our little lady loves to eat. Need to come and try the evening menu now. All the best for the season ahead." CM
Apr 18 - "We arrived about 12.45 and there were a few table occupied. By the time we left the bistro was full! We loved the ciabatta, crab sandwich and the beans with toast (from the kids menu) was a real hit with my fussy 9 year old son!
